This can be done in clients who are unable to take medication orally through feeding tubes which give medication directly into the stomach such as a gastrostomy. Enteral nutrition support is often required for people who cannot eat without assistance, or those who require extra nutrition. Medication can also be administered directly into the stomach which may be helpful for people who have trouble taking medication by mouth.
