About our Diabetes management

Our team of nurses and complex care assistants are trained to manage all aspects of diabetes management including blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration, venepuncture for Hba1C testing and escalation of care when required, liaising with relevant healthcare providers throughout.

At MSH Healthcare we understand that managing diabetes means making significant lifestyle changes. Following a healthy diet and taking regular exercise are especially important. We provide a range of care and support services to help you manage the challenges of living well with this condition.

What is Diabetes?

Diabetes is a lifelong condition that causes a person’s blood sugar level to become too high.

There are 2 main types of diabetes:

type 1 diabetes – where the body’s immune system attacks and destroys the cells that produce insulin

type 2 diabetes – where the body does not produce enough insulin, or the body’s cells do not react to insulin
